Hi all. I'm new to the board and I did a couple searches and couldn't find any relevant answers, so if you are familiar with my plight, feel free to chime in. I just got an MPC 2000XL and love using it. I would prefer to do all of my sampling, drums, bass, and sequencing on it using sounds from sampling and loaded WAV files. However, I also want to be able to transfer that exact audio into Logic to do more mixing by using an audio interface and I can't quite seem to figure it out.

For example, if i created a song in my MPC with all of my linked sequences, I want to transfer all of those sounds, programs, sequences, etc. exactly as they are from the output of my MPC to my computer.

Now what I have done so far is hook up the output with an RCA cable (and phono converters) into RCA inputs on an audio interface called the TASCAM US-144. I know the interface is receiving the sounds but I just cannot seem to figure out how to get those sounds from my interface to my computer. It is hooked up through USB. Can anyone help so that I would be able to record into Logic? Thanks in advance.

@Cosmic
You're not helping with those nonsense comments. Nobody cares that you think Ableton live is far superior to any MPC out there. This is an MPC forum, get over it homie.

Sounds, programs and sequences are output from your MPC in the form of sound or AUDIO files (.wav) and it is this audio that is passed through to your audio interface. From the audio interface the signal is then routed to your DAW software inputs ready to be recorded (tracked) onto an audio channel, much like if you had plugged in a microphone.

The first step is to set up your audio interface and select it for use from within your DAW program. How you go about this depends on your DAW software and audio interface drivers. Its quite a simple task once you find the correct menu items.

Test that the interface is set up and working properly before going any further.

Also, does your MPC have the optional output expansion and what DAW are you using/ planning to use?

Got it all to work! Thanks a lot for your help!
