advice on sampling

i just got my mpc andi'm having trouble sampling. i have a numark tt-1910 direct drive turntable that i run to a numark dm1002x then it goes to my mpc. I know this real shitty stuff but its all i got untill i get some more cheese. when i turn my turntable on it has a loud buzzing noise. someone told me that it was because it didn't have phon pre amps so i got one off of ebay for 20 bucks but that didn't work. can someone shine some light on this dilema of mine?

sounds like you are pluged into wrong whole. or not properly grounded. or the mixer is broken. or short in cable. could be a bad needle.. Could be your sampler id broken.

Can yu sample from a different source, like cd, without the noise?

like lord said.. but check if the turntable sounds like that normally without u sampling.. test different sources.. troubleshoot and hit is back up with more info...

It sounds like your turntable isn't grounded to the mixer, which would cause the feedback.

yeah ur not grounded. with a dj mixer or a pre amp they have these screws to take that lone wire comin from the deck. That should get rid of it. ur best bet would to get a cheap dj mixer with some eqs then u can get better samples have a lil mixer that can usally hold 4 devices and it will all be grounded.

word. i can run a cd player or anything else through the mixer and its fine. i think i need to have that gnd thing connected to my mixer and turntable. but i don't have the wire. any sugestions?

what kind of table is it? if its like a old piece of shi* then i dunno.

oh my bad i just reread it. hmm. there should be 3 wires hangin off the table the rcas and a black one. also make sure u got them plugged into PHONO on the mixer instead of LINE. the mixers have a preamp in them that boost phono signals up to line.

haha also goto numarks site and get a manual and it will tell u how to properly ground ur shi*

If you don't see a single wire coming out the back, look for a screw (with a little picture of something that looks a bit like an antenna next to it) on the turntable. You can fix any type of thin single wire to this, and run it to the ground on your mixer or preamp.
