greetings

so I've been trying to use XFADE (in TRIM Mode) today to crossfade a classical guitar sample. I don't understand how it works. How can I adjust how much time from the end of the sample and from the beginning will be crossfaded? It seems like XFADE is splitting my sample into two equal zones and crossfading them, the results are a mess, it's like the sample has a 2-3 second delay playing along.

thanks in advance

adjust the start point of the crossfade so that the actual looping segment does not contain the transient portion of your sample. assuming your sample is a Oneshot, not a phrase.

... I'm trying to make sense of this XFADE function in Trim mode and also the X-fade in the layer window.

Can you guys give me an example of what u use xfade for, and how? Maybe some audio clips (b4 and after) where one could tell the difference....

Could be that I'm trying to use xfade for something it was not designed for

thanks

astronaut> in the layer window (crossfade layer) it works with pressure/aftertouch (1-2 graph)

In the trim mode it's the typical use of crossfade loop (thought to avoid clicks when looping). With the automatic feature JJ added some updates ago it makes the process even easier.

If I'm not mistaken, Nym refers to his own style of crossfade looping of individual samples tails.

yeah or maybe astronaut is looking for adjusting the crossfade lenght? I'm not using that function too much but I'm not sure if it's possible in a classic configuration (i.e. sample start point and loop start point linked)
