Can the 4000 read disk from the 3000?

I have a 3000 and I'm thinking about trading it in for a 4000. Can the 4000 read disk from the 3000?

I'm not 100%, but I don't think so. Doesn't the 3000 & the 60 use .SND files instead of WAV? It certainly can't read "Disk" since it doesn't have a disk drive. Trade it and start fresh. 4000 rules.

u can load all ur samples into ur computer then change thier format to sumthin mor 4k friendly, connect usb and import

According to akai, the 4000 has no issue loading 3000 programs. You can pick up a usb floppy drive cheap and load them right in and they'll get converted to 4000 programs by the machine.

The 4000 is a huge leap from the 3000. It'd say be prepared to be a little overwhelmed by the change. If you're looking to step it up and want to use instrument samples in the mpc I'd say getting the 4000 would be a good move.

i'm pretty sure it does but am not 100%..

I have some mpc60 disks (they have everything on those, seqs, songs, samples, params, everything.) and I can put those disks into the 2000 classic and they work. they take a bitching long time to load but they will load. the problem is the sequences get slightly messed up but are fixable.


therefore, I'm sure the 3000 will load in the 4000 except as I had to... you may have to rebuild the song. (by the way I just turned off the classic and kept that song in the 60 floppy to use on the 60)
