JJ OS Feature Requests (ARCHIVE)

Assignable pad midi out channel. Right now you can only chnage the note that a pad is sending out, I'd also like to be able to set the midi channel of each pad. Like TRK = send on the channel that is set in the track, and channels 1-16.

so the LFO instead of the Slider will set the chop.

BUTTON LOCK. like on cell phones.
often when performing on the pads i will accidentally hit buttons - the F buttons, or others.
this sucks and could potentially really muck up a live performance.
i would like to be able to turn off all buttons (until a combination is set, kind of like on a cell phone how you can hit * and 1 or something to "unlock" the phone).

should be an easy addition. i could always build in a switch to turn on/off the buttons but it sure would be smoother if it were a software function.

I'd like to turn NDC into separate samples(to transport chops to computer to use it again).
And something like roll function to pad(in playback, you did loop&hold so i think that is possible too) to have more ,,real" drum percussion sound - when you hold pad you have your sound repeated very fast while cutting itself.

You can extract individual chops as of JJOSXLv2.27:

right now when you go to SAVE mode (MPC1000) and want to save a sample, if you hit any pad it will play the sample that is highlighted. I'd like to have the feature where if you hit a pad and there is a sample assigned to it, it will automatically be highlighted.

probably been requested before for OS2XL:

- select + MOVE function in grid edit, like in OS2

- notch/peak filters in program mode (to be clear, talking about the same kind of filters as in the eq effect)

Not sure I understand this, do you mean to shift notes forward or back a step? There's not already a shortcut for that, is there? I just noticed that shift+bar skips between steps where there is a note entered.

Not sure I understand this,

currently in edit bar one, to go from step 5 to step 14, you have to press 9 times the cursor to the right. ( in VELO parameter line )
I say, to do just that, hold tap tempo + jog wheel (turning 9 on the right)

if you have recorded 3 notes: C, D, E at 1.00, 2.00, and 3.00
if you are at C and hit shift/bar right, the cursor willl jump to note D (2.00)

it is a function for "next note in seq"

very handy for editing drums.

Start audio recording on the fly: When you play a looped sequence and press overdub (or rec) + play, an audio track will start to be recorded at the current position. When the end of the sequence loop is reached the recording continues from the start of the first bar of the loop. The recording ends when the position where the recording started is reached. The resulting audio file starts where the first bar starts (and not where the recording was initiated). Does that make sense?

I use audio recording frequently (MPC1000 JJ OS2XL) to record sequenced phrases, such as synth loops. The problem is that reverb tails, echoes and other transient effects are cut off at the beginning of each loop. If a recording could be started on the fly in the middle of a loop, this would be avoided.
