Who produces south beats on a 3000???

I've been trying to produce dirty south style beats on a 3k lately... sampling off my softsynths etc..

things are okay.

i just wanted to know who else does and how does it sound...

up so far ive always used my 3k for more warm and fat textures... the dilla style really.. ive been trying to make it sound clean.. anyone produces this type of stuff with a 3k? (im thinking drummaboy, shawty redd, zaytoven, lex luger etc...)

I do it every day on a 4k! But I use romplers/synths via MIDI for the melodies. Drums always in the MPC though. So they have that SLAP!!! You know what I mean.

Me 3. I'm making dirty south all the time now. I might trade my 3000 for a 2500. It's got way more options. What I really want is a 4000. Big step up though.

first one that comes to mind is Swizz Beatz. he is like Bangladesh. they sample synth sounds from various sources into their mpc's. then build the beat in the mpc and track it out to pro tools. Swizz uses the MPC 3000, Bangladesh uses the MPC 2000XL. i know it's not dirty south style beats, but as far as a cleaner sound... they have it.

also Lil Jon used an MPC 3000 to make most of his Crunk classics...

yeah swizz has always been a huge inspiration, and he sounds like EVERYTHING goes thru his 3k... at least in the way his beats bang, i could almost guess it...

as for lil jon, i never knew he had a 3k!

very very interesting stuff...

im still trying to build myself a convincing drumkit for the 3k... something i could roll with for a while...

im aiming at a fairly clean yet warm beat texture, drumma boy would be a great example , altho he uses a 4k and doesnt seem to sample everything in it... wonder if it's possible with a 3k.

if you have a pc or access to a pc, you can use this program...

it allows you to load samples from your computer into it and save program that can be used on the MPC2000, MPC2000XL, MPC3000 or MPC60 with OS3.1

if you search online you can find producer kits with clean and punchy drum sounds. load them into the 3000 with this program and they will be as clean as you can get.

dig online and you can find tons of drum kits for Free. some are good and some are horrible. take time to collect the good ones and delete the bad ones, then build programs for your 3000 that you like, save them onto disks and you got instant access to good drum hits whenever you want.

i'm sure Swizz, Lil Jon, Drumma Boy, etc... all have drum kits saved and ready to be loaded when they are ready to bang out a beat.

i use rs 16 already.

i was just amazed by how dull sounds sounded in my 3k when transfered from a usb-zip drive...

thing is when i sample from vinyl or a computer i always eq on the way in... not that way...

so ill have to either eq stuff before i bounce them to the disk... either put my beats together raw and eq to taste in post-prod... which i enjoy anyways

Yeah I keep all my drums saved in my computer and use FL Studio or Reaper to layer and EQ them before I sample them into my MPC.. This way I dont have to cycle thru 10 different programs on my MPC. It also allows me to get my drums bumping exactly how I want before I even sample them into the MPC so I dont have to do any tweaking once I track my beats into Reaper... Just track my beat and then its on to the next one...

outcast used it . back in their early production ... funny you say lex luger lol. he uses nuthin but fl studio .. lol...

yea i do kno that lex luger uses fl/philharmonik. cool idnit. yet every other producer ive named has an extensive hardware rig...
