Mpc 2000xl with sonar 2 xl

It's not possible to send your samples thru midi to your MPC so I would recommend an zip drive in both your sampler and pc (wich is my setup )

I run with:

- MPC2000XL
- Sonar 2.0 XL
- Soundforge 2000XL..ehm I mean 4.5
- Recycle

First I record samples in soundforge, Chop em in Recycle save'm to my zip load em in my MPC and drum into Sonar.. It works perfectly![/color]

hey thanks man.  Glad you cleared that up for me.  One question.  You said you drum them in to Sonar.  Could you please tell me how you connected your MPC 2000 XL to Sonar.
This may be a stupid question.  Just trying to piece together what I know.  Currently I have my Layla Midi In to my EMU Midi Out and I have my Midi Controler Out to the Layla Midi In.  And on my Layla I have Midi In, Midi Out, Midi Thru..  Just wanted to know where my MPC fits in.  Thanks

I'm not what you say a Midi-Pro but I'll tell you what I know from my own experience. I have 2 midi ins and outs. I use the Soundblaster Live platinum with the frontpanel. So I have a cable wich I connect to my gameport wich has both an midi in and out wich I have connected to my MPC. My midikeyboard is connected to the midi in and out of the frontpanel of my soundblaster. In sonar this is the same midiport.

Drawing in Sonar your drums is no problem. Drumming on the MPC to sonar can be a lil harder. When you loaded your program in you're MPC go to "main screen". Go down and next to "S:Drum1" it say's "off". Turn the joggwheel just 1 tick to the right and it says "1a-device01" click "open window" and set the "soft thru" to "off". This is what worked for me!
