hey, it's fairly common to see people wondering how to do every possible tactic of getting sounds into the mpc aside from actually sampling... some guy once made a thread asking if there was a way to modify his mpc to use usb in order to get data from his desktop or some thing like that... or some sort of usb networking.

fact is, this aint a new thing around here Mr. FivePosts, the dude forgot his mpc is a sampler, so we reminded him. Look at it as tough love, it encourages thinking twice before asking and promotes thinking for themselves over expecting to be spoon fed. Why is that a good thing you may be wondering? Because getting spoon fed leads to requiring more spoon feeding, however once they learn to cook then they are a step ahead.

amopow wrote:Hey guys. So I just saw an AraabMuzik video on Vimeo and was blown away. I did a little research and stumbled upon the MPC500 which looked oddly familiar. Turns out my brother has had one sitting on his desk unused for months. So I grabbed it and I don't know where to begin. I'm currently on a MBP btw. Questions...

What kind of software do I need?
What kind of hardware do I need? (cords, memory cards etc.)
Will I be able to start making beats quickly or is there a big learning curve?
Please tell me everything you wish you knew when you started your MPC "journeys"

Thanks, any and all help is greatly appreciated

Flame? Where? I am serious. When I started reading Debauch's posts, I really had to get back to basics and use the true power of my now six samplers. His post was great to me. But some on here really act helpless. I read the entire 2500 thread before I made my first post. I have done the same with the 3000 thread also since I copped mine. Wanna guess what I am reading now? the 2000XL thread because I got mine back.

It does get old reading the "I been a PRODUCER for 8 years but I don't know what a 1/4 inch jack is" threads. I don't believe in "flaming" people at all. but I have said it numerous times "spend your time not your money".

hey even if you dont own one, download the mpc60 manual written by roger linn... it's such a pleasure to read in the realm of manuals especially when compared to other mpc models.

Yeah this guy gets an honourable mention for CBOTY, but he aint a 2011 "BG" or nothin.
