Im down to drop a couple hundred, its not a big deal. I got an mbox and tt etc but Id rather use less to convert the files for my mobile set up.

If it were me, and I wasn't looking for a cheap fix I'd see if I could find a good deal on a used Bellari VP-530...usb phono preamp and use that with the tt you already have. Probably can be found on fleabay or craigslist for $250-350. Then again, at that point, you might as well just use the mbox as it already has a pre.
If that doesn't sound good to you, then I'd just spend a little dough and get a Numark TTUSB or Audio-Technica LP60 or somethin' for $100.

no usb turntable out there is gonna sound as nice an actual turntable hooked up to your mbox... i wouldn't even bother with one to be honest... it's a huge downgrade in quality for the most part... cheaply built tables with hollow-sounding plastic tonearms and the cheapest preamps imaginable... MP3 quality is bad enough... at least have the decency to rip tracks from a proper setup... just my 2 cents... don't mean to sound harsh.

A year ago I would have called bullshyte on this, but now I actually agree that better turntable and preamps do sound better. I want a 1200 now - but I didn't know the prices have nearly tripled. I bought my usb turntable just to have something to get started with.

yea I hear that, I like the concept more than the actual craftsmanship of of it...I'd be looking at the following
Audio Technica ATLP120 $209.07
Numark TTI USB Turntable With Pitch Control and Universal Ipod Dock : $144.95

That player looks dope!
I don't need super high quality cause I'm not hella picky but just decent enough.
