Technical questions for the MPC2000xl and the MPC2000
By DeckMusicJD$ Sun Jun 08, 2003 3:21 am
i've been using my 2000XL a lot lately and i've been basically keeping it on all day (7-9 hours). I usually use it for a few hours, but since i only got floppy's to save my material i just leave it on in between use - so it sits on idol for 1-2 hours before i start using it again. Just wondering how long people leave their machines on when they are not using them. Or if anyone has had/or knows of problems that can occur from leaving the machine on for long periods of time.

peace,
JD

Ive only had mine for a couple weeks.. but I just turn it on when I use it, which is at most a few hours at a time.. never really left it on all day.

I think I've herd on this site that the LCD screen can wear out after a long time....like any screen. Maybe keeping it on all day is decreasing screen life. So it's personal preference i guess.

Best to turn it off if you are not using it, as this will save component life.

I leave it on all day too. I hate saving and reloading everytime.
I do turn the contrast on the screen down when i'm gone for a few hours.
Press shift , and rotate the jogwheel anticlockwise. I think it may prevent the screen from burning out soon.

ieism: thats a good idea about turning down the contrast, i'll have to do that....Yea saving everything to a floppy is a ****, thats the only thing i dont like about the MPC. thanks for the advice all
