Technical questions for the MPC2000xl and the MPC2000

Actuallly, the easy way around this issue would be to buy a smaller card to use for transfers and just leave the 2 gig in the MPC for long term storage.

I suggest a 32 meg card, that way you could use the MPC Editor to re-format the card for transfers.

Yeah, that's actually what I was orginally gonna do but I decided to go with the 2 gig and save some money...Thanks for all the help...

I wonder, how did you connect the CF Reader to MPC, by SCSI ? If so, could you tell where i can get a scsi cf reader?

That is a problem. Even if you format it in Win9x, I doubt the MPC could correctly mount it.

Would a couple of partitions work? I don't know, just thinking out loud.

I'm looking at buying an MPC with a pc card drive that was installed by the current owner. He says he uses a pcmcia/cf adaptor without any probs. I'm just wondering if there's anything I should be aware of before I buy this thing. Thanks

"Would a couple of partitions work?"

No because the MPC does not understand PC partition blocks.

download iomega ware... then format your zip using iomegaware.. should be able to read each way. Thats what I did and it worked.

As a Mac 10.3 user, waiting to receive my Microtech Dual Scsi External reader, am I going to need any software that'll allow my OS X to recognize my MPC Formatted Disk?
