"jk" for Just Kidding? I really don't care, still unforgivable, especially if he is trying to make a good impression.
Seriously, I can replace most of the parts on my MPC-2000XL (I guess it is a charm of old electronics.) But I don't know if I'll be able to replace switches on Beathang, I am feeling that surface mount board is used on that "thang."
Besides that, it does not look even durable than MPC-1000.

Aja, for your products sake... PLEASE STAY OFF INTERNET MESSAGE BOARDS. You're ruining this "thang" single handedly with your true lack of professionalism, and by insulting the majority of the only people that would be interested in buying this "thang".. Negro you act like you're 13 years old. Peace

That'd be dope if it's an open source os, but the machine still looks wack and you come off as an egotistical jackass with no sense of business professionalism. I suppose there's a possibility this might be decent as time progresses, but at this point I don't see how that would be possible. I guess time will tell. Just my $0.02.

and that usually only happens when the manufacturing company doesn't deliver... JJOS is a prime example. Akai was half assed with the OS making the machines basically worthless so there was motivation to have that fixed... businesses want an OS that is stable and customisable to their needs since they couldn't depend on main OSs to fill those needs so they tweak a linux build... people generally dont fix what aint broke.

basically while that seems great, it seems like more of an acknowledgement that BKE hired the same people who made the virtual to program the OS for the hardware unit ... but somehow we are okay cause it's linux and can be fixed by 3rd party developers.. hahaha, finally someone from that company acknowledges some of the reality.

I'd beat that thang...

i aint directly familiar with dallas texas i saw a vid of him talking on the beat thang and he seem passionate about bke.

and from the adds it looks like things are going well and there is a lot of interest and support.

it seems like a relaunch cos alot of the peeps from the mass audience may not have been aware that beat kangz was around and promoting since 09.

so to many of the general public all the misshapps and missed deadlines is unknown to them so shit does look alot smoother right now then it did 2 years back.

much of the beef beat kangz had was with the insiders us guys who make beats and look at what is happening behind the curtain on the production side of things.

i hear many peeps have a sour taste from the beat thang virtual but fro most no one really cared about the software it was the promise of the hardware that made shit interesting.

id still like one but at that price point i aint **** with it i'll stay with the maschine

but i got no hard feelings towards the kangz they seem cool, bare in mind peeps have a forum persona even if he came in here talking normal u know peeps on forums seen to naturally become assholes and he'd get flamed so naturally he gonna talk some shit when coming on here.

someone said that the hate was directed at aja and not the product, i agree the hat from the forum was towards aja but it was also at the product cos peeps have a psychological attachment to the idea of mpc being the gold standard of beat making so any product to challenge that was going to be attacked vehemently.
