Im not sure if you would describe this style of beats as backpacker or boombap?. Anyway I would just like to break it down production wise and hear from other heads if they know of any other beats in the same vein from other artists?.
Im pretty sure in my last Boom bap thread we covered the drums so I will just focus on the samples used. First thing I have noticed is library music and EFX sampled from 80’s and 70’s cartoons. The formula seems to be having a errie string sample looped for 2 bars and then just add your chopped notes on the 1's and 2's and EFX for flavour. The cartoon EFX always seem to be 16 leveled on velocity and faded on time.
