I know from experience. I sold my 2000XL in 2007, I bought a 2500 in 2009 and then a 3000 a few months ago. And just a couple of weeks ago - I bought my old 2000XL back. Follow that above plan from jonestown and you will end up with two powerful music making tools. And either of them can be easily liquidated if the need arises (a move that I do not recommend!!).
