CF Card Issues..

Seems like I've been havin problems since about 2 months ago w/ anything to do w/ the CF card/slot. My 2GB card which worked fine, just completely stopped working. My MPC would freeze up as soon as I hit the load/save screen. Then when I took the memory card out it unfroze. I've searched everywhere online since then and of course haven't found no solution. I just got uh new memory card the other day, Sandisk 32MB, and it works slightly, but it's buggy. All I can do pretty much is load samples up one by one. I can't load programs, nothin.. First I tried the BlueBox ones, then ones I could save on the MPC. When I load em though my MPC completely freezes.

So I ordered the Akai HDM-10, aka HD adapter Kit, about uh month & uh half ago. Of course they were out of stock so I've been waitin forever. I already got the HD for it. I could go on and on, but basically I just wanted to know if anybody has had any problem similar and if gettin the HD 'fixed' it? Sucks cause this shit put my production almost to uh complete stop..

Check in the back of the CF slot.
Make sure none of the pins are bent. If they are, carefully straighten them with tweezers or WHY and hopefully this will sort your problem.

They're not bent.. I checked on this forum last night and did a disk check in Windows on my memory card via USB CF Card reader and it started working properly. Then when I tried to via USB on MPC I had the same issue.

I was just wondering if I would have the same problem with my HD when my HDM-10 Kit finally gets here. I also saw on the same thread that someone's problem was just the USB2.0 cord, so I might give that uh try if the HD has issues. Hopefully not.. Right now I'm gonna just keep usin this CF Card Reader.

got an mpc1000 currently makin beats with jj os2xl and i have similar problems with my cv cards. also my hard disk didn't work properly since i got it from mpcstuff. i de-installed it after a some months of unhappy relationship.

to describe my issue: after working a while (maybe an hour or two) i hit the save screen and it freezes, when i eject the card after a minute or so i'm able to change to the main screen.

i switch the mpc off (without saving the last steps - cause that's not possible) and turning it on again, normally the save screen area is freezing again and again till i stop makin music for that night.

i had similar problems with ohter jj os's. don't know what it is. it's very frustrating. i need an mpc that is reliable.

Did you format the cf or hard drive before using it? Format it in JJOS.

yes

did the hd->cf-modification and it's working nice and smooth since two weeks.

i'm happy again!

still having problems. save/load screen freezes after a while working with the mpc1000 with jjos2.
