mosdman wrote:the problem with this thread is that it sounds like a bad infomercial and all these posters that get on here sound like the fake actors they bring in for testimonials, if you post any opinions against their screen they bash you and call you a basher and a troll.

There are two people in this thread pushing product:
1) envision electronics - pushing the new screens they designed which are not even out yet
2) modsman - pushing mpcworld, which i had never heard about until the MANY references to it in this thread, from him alone

if this is some sort of new viral marketing thing, wow, it's hit a new low. couple this with the bk guy and internet marketing in general makes me never want to buy a product again. hell, i'm not even doubting that this could be envision ;].

people aren't bashing anyone for having a different opinion...you didn't come in here with a different opinion, you came in here with a bad attitude, a total lack of correct information, and an agenda to push this other website. people are reacting to the fact that you are 1) rude and 2) an idiot.

spending $100 to get a used screen, that is going to crap out just like the old screen, potentially very quickly... are you kidding? that's like buying milk without an expiration label, hoping you've still got a couple glasses left in there...when you're starving, you'll do it, though.

Exactly.... I never have heard of this thread and I have never seen a single post about it outside this thread.

the only reason i mentioned mpcworld.com was because these guys were posting that there is no place to get a 2000 or xl lcd screen at a good price.

but i mentioned mpcstuff.com just as much so what's that mean i own both of those sites?

Mosd, why do you have it in for this guy? Why cant u just let dude do his thing? What do you know that ur not telling us?
By mosdman Tue Aug 02, 2011 9:54 pm
besides you guys are talking like there are alot of places to get mpc parts from.

what are our options? .. what ebay? ... any used mpc related item i ever got from ebay was damaged because you are buying from amateurs that dont know what they are doing the ebay buyer protection is a big joke.

where is a good place to get mpc parts that is not completely over priced??? sorry to say but mpcstuff.co is not one of them most of their prices are out of this planet
By mosdman Tue Aug 02, 2011 9:56 pm

I'VE HEARD ENOUGH!!! Seriously, I can't put up with your word vomit for another second!!! There are about 6 people circle posting on here, and you d-bags know who you are, who have no business being on this thread. Correction: We all have a right to be on here but some of us REALLY SHOULD REFRAIN FROM COMMENTING!!!!

I too am one of the many in need of a replacement screen for my 2000. I've replaced my screen 4 times. All were NOS factory replacements. No Refurbs. Mine got used... A LOT!! We ALL know the problem. We ALL know the locations and pries on the options available for screen replacement. Lets not pretend that at this point in time ANYONE on here is NOT already aware of these. What we are on here for is to patiently (or impatiently as it may be...) and anxiously await the open market availability of Envision's new screen. I've been following the progress on this from 2 threads ago when the first dude tried to undertake what Envision has finally managed to achieve. Years now. YEARS!! When it is made available, I will buy one. Immediately!!

I have been involved in just about every facet of electronics and engineering for the last 2 decades of my life. I have personally decompiled software drivers for hardware devices to solve similar issues with other s***y parts in otherwise cool products. At one point I was looking at solving this problem for myself with the MPC2000 screens and not with the intentions of selling multiple units other than to my close friends in the 2000/2000XL club. I took one look at the integrated hardware accompanying the factory screen and took a pass. I understand completely the scope of work that went into this. It is NOT easy. It is hugely time consuming. It is expensive. Please, to those of you that keep muddying the waters on the thread, DON'T F*****G pretend for a second that you have any idea what ACTUALLY goes into this!! You have no clue!! If you actually understood you might make comments that had relevance here and you clearly do not.

I log on here every few days or maybe once a week to see if there is any progress and instead of seeing new posts from Envision, I am forced to wade through pages of trash hoping to see an update. YOUR OPINIONS DO NOT MATTER!!! NO ONE GIVES A F**K!!!! BELIEVE IT!!! When you return comment while thinking "they're not talking about me, they must be talking about that other guy..." NO!! WE"RE TALKING ABOUT YOU!!! All the rest of us want is REAL info on the NEW screens from Envision Inc. (NOT REFURBS OR USED ONES!!). Release date, progress on firmware updates, availability at what vendor (which we have already been made aware), and pricing info (which has been announced and is said to be under contract terms with a price cap, if you'd actually read the posts). NOTHING MORE!!!

If you (again, you know who you are...) want to circle jerk with each other DO IT SOMEWHERE ELSE!!! For the love of Christ!! I'll start a new thread JUST FOR YOU GUYS and call it "The Cool Kids Are In Here" and you can go on and on and on until you type your F*****G fingers off for all I care but PLEASE don't do it here. Pretty please... with sugar and s**t and sprinkles all over it, go somewhere else. If you have a need to try and misinform people with the S**T you THINK you know (and clearly don't other than the location of a few COMMONLY known websites that offer MPC parts) FINE... I get that you have a need to feel self important. Write a book about it and how much crap you saw on the internet and filled your fragile little mind with... Start your own thread. Better yet, start your own website, and guess what I"LL NEVER GO ON IT!!

IF THERE IS A GOD... PLEASE... OH PLEASE let one of 2 things happen:

1. That you all SHUT THE F**K UP and wait for information from Envision on one of the items I mentioned above. STOP MUDDYING THIS THREAD WITH YOUR NONSENSE!!! When his screen hits the market, I encourage you ... buy one. Install it. Note that it will likely WORK!!! I say "likely" with more than a cautious optimism having seen the vids that show obvious new hardware and firmware on the screen being used and not just some ass trying to pawn off an old screen as a new one. AFTER (meaning AFTER you buy, receive, install, use, and have some relevant information to add to this thread) you have some experience with it... THEN let us know what you think. As I mentioned, I WILL be buying one. I could care less what you think about the fact that I am buying one. If you feel offended by this please write about it in your personal journal, tell a priest, talk to your guidance counselor, but please... do not do it on here. When I have mine in service, I WILL BE posting on what my thoughts are and I can only imagine that fond gratitude will be expressed. For less than $200... even if it doesn't work (and I'm sure it will) I'll STILL be thanking them for the cheap date chance to revive a cool machine.

2. IF/WHEN Envision (and the rest of us on here for the reason I mentioned above) realize that you fools AREN'T going to shut up or go elsewhere, he chooses (wisely) to begin a new thread and abandon this one. With any hope he will give it an obscure title. He will also PM the rest of us so that we are aware of where to look to follow up on the progress. Those of us that understand the service that he has CHOSEN to provide for us will be REALLY GRATEFUL for all the hard work he has put forth in order to bring this product to market in an effort to make all of our studio lives a little easier and bring some of our trusty old friends back to life from the $2400 paperweight pile. By quietly abandoning things here, you rats can occupy the Captainless ship he would be leaving behind and type yourselves in little circles of oblivion for months on end while no one else watches or cares. I'll be leaving the ship with the Captain.

My parting question is this (ITS RHETORICAL SO PLEASE DON"T FEEL THE NEED TO ANSWER!!), we all bought MPC's to make music with... shouldn't more of you ACTUALLY spend some time making music instead of running on about things you know nothing about on forums?? My guess is no. You likely bought one to look cool like "hey... I make dope beats yo..." and pretend like you have a clue. There are way to many of "you" out there and that fact SUCKS A**!!!

Best of luck to ENvision and his team on the venture. I for one... get it. Many thanks to you and your team. Can't wait to get my hands on one. I can not even begin to explain my enthusiasm in getting my MPC back into action and back into my live PA again. Its been too long... Cheers.

So as to avoid irrelevant banter on here, which I am obviously (^^^^) not a fan of, I will oblige this question just once.

I am a old school producer, past studio and live sound company owner, engineer and electronics junkie. I've been around the block. I built my first studio in 1993 and built a $6 figure, 2800 sq ft, 7 room dedicated recording facility in 1998 that I have long since sold. I have a ton of old production gear, hardware synths and samplers (hard to imagine in the cushy software world we all live in now but I still have a hard time fully embracing) , mostly Roland (lots of them and all the ones that everybody lusts after and that fetch a ton of money these days on a used market) but more gear in my studio storage room in cases for lack of space than comprise most peoples entire studios.

I bought the 2000 when it was brand new and just on the market maxed out with all the options. I loved it, flaws and all. I went through, what... like 3 different software versions in the time I was using it. I had a 60. I had a 3000. Christ, I not only had an Emulator II with the factory 50 5 1/2" floppy disk (yeah, when floppy disks were actually FLOPPY!!) library but an SP1200 edition 1 as well.

I am a collector of these and many other things. I work in many facets of the electronics industry, some music related and some not. At the end of the day, it is unimportant who I am. What IS important is why I (as well as many others) am on here. The reason is strangely enough the title to this thread. All I really care about is getting one of these screens from Envision so I can un-mothball my 2000 and make some tracks with it and get it back in my live PA arsenal again. Some of us, well... I for one, old school purists frown on those that play "LIVE" from full songs just playing on their laptops, most of whom have no real idea what DIN SYNC and MIDI are let alone how the hell to use gear that requires anything other than a USB cable.

The rest is just details (and a bunch of driveling and rambling from some folks that should just go hang out at the mall or perhaps take a Applied Electronic Engineering class at their local technical college so they can make a reasonably well informed and worded comment).

I'm going to get back to my test bench now and continue constructing more X0XBOX's to add to the arsenal. Maybe you should all try it sometime. About 1000 or so individual electronic components on 2 PCB's (and in my case some custom machined and screen printed aluminum cases and knobs as well as some other nifty circuit mods) that make up each unit. They're very entertaining to build and even more so to play with.

In closing, long live acid... \m/

Well right on...you forgot one though! *you love to type

Good luck with the xoxbox's...I was just reading up on those the other day...pretty interesting box :D

My work requires that I both think fast and type fast. A good asset in many regards. Yes, the Xoxbox's are very cool. lots of good vids on youtube. Perhaps we can start another thread on here to discuss it... HAHA!! Just kidding. Really though, they are awesome. Now... I'm out until Envision is on, which will hopefully be sooner than later.

If you can integrate an mpc into the thread, I'd say make one in the studio environments section- I'd participate :D

WOW SO HE'S A NEW MEMBER AND HE HAS 3 POSTS ON HERE AND THEY'RE ALL RIGHT HERE ON THIS THREAD ??? SAYING NOTHING BUT NICE THINGS ABOUT ENVISION ???

AND HE'S BEEN FOLLOWING THIS FOR HOW MANY YEARS???
