Some MPC 5000 Love

MY girl got me one as a bday gift but i cant touch it till sep 14! Cant wait!

Congrats man, that's one altruistic move by your girl! Giving you such a gift could probably withdraw all the remaining time you could dedicate to her.

The 5K is also powerful for live performace. I've been using for finger drumming and complete beat base in live performaces for over 2 (Two) years.
Last Friday It was fire!!!

Kennedy, nice to see the 5K put to use in a live scenario! Are there any vids of your live performances?

I'm still learning this thing but it's a great piece of gear.I already have a coworker who want to mic up his drums and sample his guitar into it for his band.

Yes sir you are right. Electron seems to make some cool stuff. I've never even seen any of their stuff in person. interesting stuff. sounds like you're gonna have a nice arsenal there.

That first video was great! It was good that he literally showed you HOW it was fixed... I never used os 1 but I do like 2.0.... I'll be curious if they do update the os in the future.

Well my 5k arrived yesterday in one piece luckily and..................Its better than i remembered.Fantastic machine.The phono ins sound good enough.Actually really like the sampling.Contray to what people say its got a different feel and finished sound than the 4k.Not better and not worse but sounds modern.Nice bouncy phat sound.Sequencer is really really good feel.Very happy to automate the parameters.And-no bugs so far!!!!!!!!!!Its a monster.Great fx and filters.
@Otobot-Hows that octotrack? and tracks-i hope you get a new machine soon in one piece.Its worth it.imo

The Octatrack still hasn't arrived.. thought it will be delivered by the local vendor I got it from on ebay for a very good price. But it turns out it's sent directly by Elektron in Sweden and is already on it's way.. maybe tomorrow, maybe monday/tuesday. I'll report once it's here and I have put it though it's paces

Yeah, there are many messy vids by EDM and tekkno geeks who show off their feature wankery lol
I've read parts of and skipped through the Octatrack manual and watched the Elektron Users board on the OT's possibilities before I pulled the trigger. That thing can do way more than what can be seen in most of those feature jerk-offs. Also I'm not so much into the kind of music most of the OT's users seem to be generating... I'm really looking forward to using it in a "next-level golden age hip hop" context in conjunction with my 5K, Emax I and a couple of VIs.
