Annoying noise

The ram on mpcstuff (like everything else they sell) is well overpriced. Get the exact type number and search around. I bought 512mb (2x 256mb sticks) of good quality ram for my mpc 4k for less than £10 (something like $6 or so).

Check the model properly before ordering!

If it isn't the ram at fault you should save your money for whatever comes next.

I've tried RAM "256MB PC100 SDRAM 168PIN" but the noise continues, and not only that, does not recognize more than 256MB of RAM + 16MB of internal RAM sockets ... both recognize the 256MB module, but the two together no ...

I have probed to disconnect the HD and the noise persists, the same operation with the CDRW and the same noise...when I turn on the MPC the noise starts like a ground sound...

have you tried plugging it in using a different plug socket? it may be the socket in the wall u are using is not good....

Yes gertie...but the noise persists, only when some sound is playing, by the pads or by the AUDITION button...

is the noise still present when you take out ram completely ?

sorry to say but it sounds like the adda board not the ram. If I were you I wouldn't bother with the effects board as it sounds like a problem with the dac on the adda board. Do your usb connections still work? I am pretty sure these are on the adda board, that may give some indication as to whether it is functional.

You'll need to source a replacement adda board, contact vst service and see if they have one from a junked mpc. I say this as if it turns out not to be the adda board it won't cost too much.

I think it is the AD/DA board. If you can buy a cheap AD/DA board you can try replacing it. They are $139 from mpcstuff. Try VST services first as they might have a used one.
