As the internal FX are mediocre i'm usually using the individual outputs to send samples through external fx via my mixer. I'd much prefer to have SEND options for samples in drum programs which leave the sample on the main outs but also send it (0-100%)to an individual output. That way i could have say a spring reverb connected to output 1, analogue delay to output 2 and lexicon reverb to output 3 etc. and be able to send multiple samples to the different FX without running out of outputs.
Of course you'd need a mixer for the fx returns, but if your already using external fx, the chances are you've got a mixer. The MPC inputs could already be used as 2 FX returns.
