The way I chop samples is I cut a part of the song I want to use that is 4 beats per measure and I load them onto my MPC where I use the chopshop feature and I count the number of pads to the beats in the sample I just loaded. Usually the samples will use 16 pads or 32 so I go to "Mode: Equally" and chop the sample into 16 pads.
but what I'm experiencing lately is that the timing is slightly off when I hit the pads. It's not a hardware issue, it's just because the MPC is chopping the sample "Equally" into 16 pieces, some chops don't start where the beat begins, and I don't want to have to edit the START and END highlights of each chop of my sample to get everything right.
Is there a way to fix this? Is my method of chopping samples a lot harder than what most people are doing?
thanks
