Post your views and questions about the Akai MPC2500

What's goin' on guys - I need some help, can anyone confirm if either of these two hard drives will be compatible for the MPC before I make the purchase....Thank you.

Western Digital WD800BEVT/R 80GB 5400 RPM 8MB Cache 2.5" SATA 1.5Gb/s Internal Notebook Hard Drive

neither of those will work in the mpc, because they are SATA, which is the current connection in modern computers.
for the mpc you need an IDE connector on the harddrive.
there is a sticky thread in the mpc 1000 subforum which discusses harddrives, all those will also fit into the mpc 2500.

Yep, IDE also known as PATA or parallel ATA.

SATA is serial ATA - totally different type of connection.

This is the type of drive you need:

NB - I'm not guaranteeing this one will work, but it's the right type so it should work.
