Just got my 4000!! Best program editor?

Hey so I figured I'd introduce myself. I've had every other MPC besides the 2000xl now. Im going to see if the 4000 is for me. Ill start it off by asking if AkSys is the best program editor for the 4000? Or is there another editor that's better?

I actually just realized that AkSys isnt a program editor it just lets you load samples into the 4000 from your computer. Is there any program that allows you to create MPC 4000 programs right from the computer or no?

Just save the programs you make in Aksys on the 4000. I get what you're saying, you wanna do them with the MPC turned off, but I think Aksys is it for the 4000. I don't think any of the editors do 4000 programs, although you could make 2000/XL programs and export those for loading in the 4000 in MPC Editor or MPC Maid. But I don't think there's a 3rd party editor that would let you set up the 4000's mod matrix and more advanced features.

Make sure you windows is 32 bit for Aksys, or else you need Professional/Ultimate's Virtual XP mode. And congrats on the new MPC man

theres a forum around here too that will get it working in win7 too
I hardly use it tho, just to load samples to chop inside my mpc

yeah I couldnt get it to work on my new computer running windows 7 64 bit but I got it to work on my laptop running Win7 32 bit so Im just gonna use my laptop for aksys i guess..

I use Audacity and a usb drive if I go that route. Mostly I just work inside the 4000. Aksys is garbage if you ask me. I haven't really gotten into it because I figure if it has to be connected to the MPC to function, I'll just use the MP itself.

Oh so u can just connect a usb drive to the 4000? What about a thumb drive?
