Planet phatt is great for that, also the new mc909 would be good used, its pretty pricey though. The drum and bass expansion for the jv1080 is nice for smooth sounds. .

a motif es and youll be straight for the next five years if not more. Its a classic keyboard. It has strongest effects and the sounds are great. Its gona take you a while just to learn how to program it and once you do learn the sky is the limit.
