dude prolly saw an opportunity to take an already designed POS he could sell in best buy so in exchange for digging the kangs out the financial hole they almost died in... he traded ownership for his contacts at best buy and acquisition of some of the debt.

Aja cut-offed his homies and sold the Beat Thang concept to Dallas Austin for x$x$x$ and thats why he acts like he owns it, because he does. Dallas just keeps Aja on the payroll as part of the deal. Can't confirm this at this time, but there is a link to Boom Bap's post saying Aja forsaken the Beat Kang vision and bringing in "outsiders" somewhere on this thread.

Has anybody tested this at Best Buy? It is supposedly out already, but I haven't heard any one actually touched the final product. Let me just say that I've never seen any musical product with so much hype, without any actual information.
I guess they didn't send demo units to reviewers (like Sound On Sound Magazine).

Actually it still looks like vaporware right now, because I usually see open-boxing video on YouTube, or actual depth review (no, not that "this is a game changer, it is so easy to use!" type of review.) from the people who bought it in store.

To be fair, I haven't found user reviews for Tempest neither (which I thought it is already released, and although it is expensive, I know some one would get it soon as it is released), so I guess it is too early to tell.
I am just interested to see it in person.
