what software do you guys use to open .rar files?

I've heard of winrar, should that be on windows automatically? #


I'm on a work computer so can't check.

hahah.. really? winrar is free on the net.. (not automatically on the machine)

haha, really. I only discovered how to extract .zip files about 6 months ago, or tather that .zip files needed extracting.

I gather this'll be the same or similar process?

good looking out guys. I'm on with the strings to start.

what sort of d/l speeds do you get? I run a dualcore laptop, 4G ram and peak at 120 kb/s.

is this the norm for my spec?

I don't think the processors of a computer affect the d/l speed, the speed depends on the connection/service/etc

Mine varies greatly depending on the time of day..
Before about 5pm around 30kb/s, in the evening under 10kb/s, and after 11pm I usually see speeds of 700kb/s

No isht Sherlock, just downloaded 2 the other night from this list and the drums sounded cheap so wanted to avoid trawling through poo stuff but such is the nature of the game :wink:

yes winrar got a better compression algorithm (data compression 20% more than winzip)
a friend (student in computer music) told me that winrar it is recommended for compressing audio files
correct me if i m wrong
