I have an mpc 2000, i am trying to record a sample on a track and set it to loop, but when it loops in playback it plays for
2 and a half bars and there is about half a bar of silence before the loop starts again. how do i get rid of this half bar of silence.

assuming that your sequence is set to 2 bars and your sample is 2 bars long, and starts precisely on beat one, adjust the tempo until it fits (speed it up if there is is silence at the end).

i generally take the loop off so it's on one shot, make sure the start point is good and at 0dB crossover, and take the end point as far as possible JUST before i can hear the start of the next bar.

work out the approx tempo and play/record.

then it's just a question of finding the best tempo so that the sample will sit on the sequence and mesh with the midi click.

2 bar samples can be tricky cos the may drift out of time

you could chop into 2 1-bar samples

you could chop into 8 or 16 parts.....
