minimalist setup

Usin MSB and LSB theres no need to save the beat or track it all over the place. Just save it on the mpc and thats it. Ill try and do a video. I dont have a motif anymore, but i still got a korg tr rack. Shit works basically the same in all of them regardles of the brand. Just gimme a few days and ill get to it.

Im not gonna lie...I have a motif rack (classic). First few weeks i had it i was scared off by the menus (fx, routing, editing etc) So ive only used it for sampling sounds, and if fx or further editing was needed, it was done in reaper. lol I usually just sample sounds from it into the mpc's audio tracks. Easiest way for me.

Just curious to know how many cats use the motif (or any hardware synth) and edit/apply fx inside the machine? Ive never once used the fx in my motif....Any good?
Funny thing to me was when i had my Mo'Phatt (should have NEVER sold her...had the proteus 2000 chip in it smh) i used msb/lsb and it was a piece of cake. Maybe ill give the motif (and the manual) another go.

When you guys do MSB/LSB do you dump it to a separate track? then just mute that track once the beat plays for the first loop?

I got 2500 as master successfuly synced with the motif, but the MSB and LSB dont affect nothing. and im in multi timbral mode/song...am I missing something ?

i used to go to pattern and when i made changes in the mp they would refelct on the motif, i never used song on the motif

the Midi sound banks are simple to access and organised well IMO once you get acclimated to msb: 63 lsb: 32 is all drums,

msb 0 lsb 0 is general midi, msb 63 lsb 0,1,2,3,4+ asd so forth are organised according to the nature of the relative instrument i.e. keys, brass, string sect. and so forth. and if you go to the mixing/voice screen on your motif while midi'd you will be able to see the program changes live as well as the name of each respective sound as you cycle through them.

I do most of my midi work with the motif if no with Reason. The workflow is extremely simple just as long as you have become comfortable with the board.
