My mpc will suffer non-use?

I've got to move to a small small house for 2 or 3 years, without space for my mpc 2500, I'll take with me my mpc 500... I was planning to put the mpc 2500 in its box and leave it in my parents house for 2 or 3 years, so my question is: is it ok for the mpc if I don't switch it up for 2 or 3 years, leaving it in its box closed? it's new, i used it 3 months now.

...maybe it's quite geeky as a question, but it's a big doubt for me!!

To your question, the MPC itself would be fine, but that's not a good idea if you have an internal HD. Any HD not run for periods of 60 days or more, runs the risk of the magnetic platters seizing up. If you just run the disk for a few minutes or an hour every couple weeks, it's good.

Hey OP, you aren't so funny either. But why blame a guy for engaging in free enterprise? Get over yourself and send that MPC to somebody who will put it to use. With it being a newer model, letting it sit for two or three years is not really a good move.
