At the moment you can "unlock" the sample start and loop start so that they have different values but the sample end is always locked to the loop end.
I'd like to have a sound fade in when I hit a pad, sustain while I hold the pad, then fade out when I release it.
ok i will chime in here again. cross9, you can do all those things you mentioned. What MPC and JJOS are you using? another thread would be better though
On MPC1000 with JJOSXL you can set a sample to trigger, with sample set to a loop mode in the sample TRIM window. Then set samples trigger mode to LOOP&HOLD in program AMP window. The rest is just changing attack and release of AMP and FILTER settings as you play it, say with Q slider.
The loops start point of the sample is not the same as samples start point in this example . The end point though is something else.
O and i can think of other ways to do what you want to do, like chopping and sequencing the sound you want, or use NDC ect ect
And while I'm still here.
Wheres my polyphony ??

I seemed to have missed where it says your MPCs polyphony is halved when using JJOSXL. wtf 16 is kinda restrictive, 24 voices instead of 32 I could handle but 16? I'm guessing things like loop player are holding back the number of voices that can be played at once. So I request that the looping recorder is dumped in favour of more polyphony.

Whos with me? no one probably. IMHO if you want that kinda thing, then just spend the $123 on a SP303 or simillar loop player or learn how to use the MPC to get the samples BPM and chop/patchprase/sequence it. Yeah I know, for 'LIVE' fun, and a bit of djing its kinda usefull, but i do not feel in anyway that the MPC is some cheap loop player, more a sampler, and sequencer, and the loop recorder function seems like a step back to me. In other words i think the loop player is dumbing down the MPC to some SPX0X box, and if any one here can enlighten me on how great it is, for some reason, i will continue to think that it is not an enhancement. Obviously i dont find it that great a feature and think voice count more important. Rant over.
