Curious what peoples experiences have been with this setup. I am thinking about going back to a 60 and I've been told the external reader is the way to go? Thoughts and experiences from someone whose rockin this combo would be greatly appreciated.

Well for a start you'll need a 60 with SCSI, and those are hard to find...

As you already know about card readers in the 3000 I cant really see the point of this.

You have a card reader in your 3000 right?

No reader in the 3000... and it's been sold. So I'm set on getting the 60 at this point, just wondering how the CF reader has worked out for the people who have added it to their unit. Was told by someone in the forum, can't remember who it was... but they mentioned that the external reader was the way to go... that it was more reliable. BUt I can't remember if he was talking about the 3000 or the 60.

go external and keep your floppy if you can...

function > fashion

2 options > 1 option

only plus to internal would be "portability" imo... but we ARE talking about a 60...

Aint that the truth!!

My 60 MkI has SCSI, but no memory upgrade.

My 60 MkII has the memory upgrade, but no SCSI.

Ideally you'll want both upgrades in the same machine, what a dilemma...

Where from, new or used and how much of your life savings did you have to part with to get it?

i remember they were out of the scsi expansions for awhile @ rogerlinndesigns, but then they had a waiting list and came through with new stock of them... this was awhile ago... maybe they ran through the last round... best bet would be to inquire @ rogerlinndesigns... at the very least, get on some kind of waiting list... scsi expansions were $300 the last time i heard... :D
