2000 or 2000XL???

Hello everyone. Quick question. I owned an MPC 2000XL for about 3 years and I loved it. I sold it and bought a 60-2, but I couldn't get the hang of it (i only used it for drums). I enjoyed the sound of the 60-2, but compared to the interface of the 2000XL it didn't do me much good. Then I sold the 60-2 and bought a 1000. I didn't care for the 1000 much at all. Its portability was nice, but that was it.

After all of that, I'm back to wanting a 2000XL. BUT I just saw a 2000 for cheap locally. Is there much of a difference between the 2000 & the 2000XL? Interface wise? I mainly use the midi channel and program fields to change my sounds. I also have some old 60-2 floppies I'd like to load up into whatever machine i decide to buy. I know the 2000XL will read them, but will the 2000?

The 2000XL was a piece of cake for me to use. Is the 2000's screen layout similar to that of the XL?

I need to pick up an MPC, I'm going thru withdrawls. Which one the 2000 or the XL?

You what? I'm not going to even start with this right here cause, well, I just won't.


The interface is pretty much the same but you will find that it doesn't have some of the functions that you were used to in the 3 years you had the XL.

Find an XL.

The 2k is solid too but the Xl has a few more features.Most of which can be done with some sort of software.But if you don't want to mess with a computer that much go with the Xl.

one of the things i like a bout the xl is the folders. Stuff is just so much prettier.

i use a 2000 and i love it. Its interface is similar to the xl's, I know because my friend has it. I can easily jump on his machine and make beats, but im so used to the 2000, that i like it more.

Just take all of the features in the 2000, all of the features in the 2000XL, plus many more features and go cop the 4000......!
