Technical questions for the MPC2000xl and the MPC2000
By Kream Sun Jun 08, 2003 4:28 pm
I have an Akai mpc 2000xl and a Roland xv 5050 creating my music. I have a problem with the midi data being delayed slightly when changing sequences. For example if I have drums and chords recorded into sequence 1 and copy to sequence to 2, when I use the Jog wheel to go back and forth between the two sequences there seems to be a delay or slight pause at the begining. What are some possible solutions to creating seamless transitions from one sequence to another and also during song creation?
I am unsure if this is a midi problem or not. However the problem seems to be eliminated when I move the starting points of the midi tracks slightly forward, however this is extremely time consuming.

Thanks
Kream

Any Help out there ?

I Figured it out. There was a timing error, when opening the timing mode screen there is an option to shift timing earlier or later. The default on my MPC was set to shift timing earlier than 1.01.01. which caused a pause or delay in my midi signals.

You didn't even read what he wrote, he told his problem and gave the solution, why do you bring up these ancient threads and then don't read every word? I figured if you had the same problem you'd READ the thread and try what they tried. You aint even trying cause you ask AFTER the solution has been posted. You need to treat yourself better than that.
