Unfortunately the retail price on these units has never really dropped, even though they've been out for years. They actually cost the same or more the a BCF2000. (I've seen BCF's on sale for $149USD). I do however see used UC-33's in $100 range, which is a much more reasonable price for what the UC-33 is.

Thanks for that. Ill look into both these options. Cheers for all your help

You said cheers. :D I'm thinking your in the UK or Europe. I mention it because Evolution products are much more popular in Europe, you should be able find used UC-33's much easier than here in the US.

yeah motorised faders would be pointless w. an MPC (you can turn them off)- but in Aust I see BCFs cheap on evilbay about every month. The Korg microkontrol is something else too - 8xfaders/8xrotaries, real MIDI out. It is a mini-keyboard & delicate-looking though...

off-topic: Note on the BCF faders - motorised but NOT touch sensitive (like a Mackie) - we found out that this can be a big deal mixing with a DAW - the fader doesn't recognise on touch when you grab it - you actually have to start moving it. The extra millisecond whatever before the motor releases & your engineer gets control can resemble a mild bar scuffle with epic swearing (EVERY TIME) to match. Hilarious.
