NI are pretty smart though. They make sure that they limit what you can do with an external controller, especially pad controllers, at the inputs. If they hadn't, they would have lost a lot of the target audience this Mikro now caters to.

Alot of the other companies should take notes, Who ever is working the product & research department over at NI deserve some credit for this one

I don't like what I'm seeing with the iOS app. Any app that doesn't allow to upload my own sounds into it is a joke. I don't care what sounds it comes with, and I certainly don't care what in-app purchasable sounds are there. When that's the model, it's quite clear that user sample import is being left out purposefully. (You can record to it though, but that's not enough)

The app will be priced at $4.99, which is probably fair for what they're offering. But why not have more than four banks, and allow user sample import, and step into the BM2/Nanostudio level of functionality, and...I don't know...make more money?

Slightly OT, but 2 Maschine threads are probably 2 too many for some here already.

Its the same thing in a smaller package. I was hoping for the dude to disconnect the controller from the computer and use it stand-alone and take it to the toilet or by the bedside.

exactly....not much new here.....many companies have smaller versions of popular models....or 'lite' versions of software offering less features

Fair point. Of course we all know that particular jog wheel is the worst. Seriously though if your coming from the regular Maschine, you're used to having what is essentially 8 F keys, and 8 Q-links, it would definitely change the flow.

I would rather have the normal maschine..

See,....the revolution is already starting. NI wants Maschine to be the next de facto standard in the Mpc style workflow and by-golly I think they are well on their way to making it happen. Seems like everyone and their mom has Maschine now. Cats are going straight from FL to Maschine. I said it before and I'll say it again their consistent FREE upgrades show an almost scary motivation to make Maschine a BEASTLY product. I'm not a fanboy...yet but Maschine is pretty dope.

I really have a sour taste in my mouth from Motu BPM. I purchased BPM when it first launched and I regret buying it. It lacked many basic features like UNDO and for the upgrade to give users these basic features Motu wanted more cash....NONSENSE! The only thing BPM has going for it is it's sound library as far as I'm concerned.
