They do look good. Jesse Dean, the guy doing those, started with velcro attached panels. People asked for something better, and he quickly came up with a dowel/screw design that's way better. I think that's just the raised front part of Maschine flush with the panels, an armrest would be dope though. I'm betting the $70 he charges is far less than Forat's asking price. Forat, I'm sure is using better wood, but the Jesse Dean puts it at a nice angle. I'm not affiliated in any way, I just think the dude's doing good work.
I use a Rolodex laptop stand, it works very well. It was about $40, but has a nice black wood base. Saintjoe at SoundsandGear has the Rolodex all aluminum laptop stand for his. It's in all his videos, if anyone's (besides Upright

I saw NI's website down earlier, seems to be the new thing everytime a Maschine update comes out, probably tons of Komplete 8 activations today too. But clearly they've sold a lot of Maschines, I'm not too excited about the new releases, but it's great they're still behind the platform 100%.
