you can certainly get a good sound sampling off youtube cos its all 16 bit its not like the audio u hear on the web is 8 bit.
im willing to bet if someone got a track sampled off vinyl then remade the same track but sampled th esong off youtube most peeps would not know the difference, and any differences would be barely noticeable.
I think youre right. But I do think what is questionable is more the quality of the person uploading the videos. If the idiot on the other end doesn't take the time to properly rip the vinyl or has some poor equipment, you will get a bad sample.
Ive sampled stuff directly from my turntable and sounded more horrible than some mp3's ive downloaded......because of record condition, sloppyness, etc.
in the end, let your ears decide.
