How to set the MPC so that the sample will play only as long as long as I press the pad on? Please HELP!

you want to set the pad paramater from "one shot" to "note on" in the program settings.

your welcome....best bet is to dwell into the manual either the hard copy or the online one as much as possible, and maybe think about updating to a version of the jj os, at least the free one, if you haven't already.
