really wierd problem! mono-jack stuck in ''record in''

so, first sorry if theres some grammar mistakes, im not from country that uses english language.

second, i have really weird problem. i bought some cheap adapters(dont know if its correct in english) chinch(rca) -> mono jack. i used to took out all cables, but this time i forgot, left the country and got back month later. so im taking out all cables and what im seeing? one of these rca-mono jack adapters dont have a head*. i took screwdriver and clip, try do something but i just took out some piece of metal part, but theres still monojacks head inside. i have new cables, probably better ones(proel) and when im plugging them in, one of them isnt entirely inside. i dont think it has a great impact on quality but i can hear some noises that i havent heard before. its pretty annoying.

i took off cover and all that stuff, but theres no way i can get in there to take it out... or there is, but i dont know how to do it. im little bit scared that ill break my lovely machine.

yeah, thats pretty much everything. so anyone had a problem like me? would love to know how to figure this out!

yes this can happen... what you need to do is open up the equipment and get to the part where the jack is... you should be able to wedge it loose from the outside of the jack casing.. but you will not be able to easily do so from the jack entrance... I had to fix this same issue with one of my mixers.

yep. i opened it the other day, but this little plastic case, where it stucked, is attached to this big green ?motherboard?, and its not moving. i havent used a lot of power because i dont want to broke it. i checked it around but its look like theres no way to open it and take this monojack just like that. ill try tomorrow open it again cause i dont have much time right now and check again and maybe make some photos, but i guess most of yall checked whats inside your mpcs and know how its all look.

yeah, like.. inside the jack there is a metal contact that pushes out to make the connection to the jack... it also holds the jack inside so it doesn't fall out. This is what is holding the broken tip inside... so you must open the machine and from around the outside of the socket you must use something to pull the metal contact to the side in order to allow the broken tip to fall out.

this is what's happening inside the jack, so you know. the only difference is, this jack is 'exposed' (you can see it), while the jacks on your mpc are enclosed...

yes, i guessed what happend inside and why it stucked in there. still dont know how to get inside this black plastic thing which jack is covered by. you all know how it looks like in your 2kxl?

like i said ill see tomorrow again inside and probably i will be smarter than today.

I dont remember if the back of the jack on the mpc is open, but if you cant pull it out, you might get lucky pushing it all the way through. Either way, dont worry too much, you'll get it worked out.

yeah exactly, when I needed to sort it out it was the black plastic variety like in the above pic... and where the metal contact goes through the plastic I needed to get a mini flathead screw driver to sort of pry or wedge it up enough to release the thing stuck inside.

hi, i opened it today again but still dont know what to do. you writing about push or pull it out and i cant see the way to do it. it looks like it cant be taken out, its in there till end of the world you know.

id say take a tiny tiny screwdriver and go in from the jack side and start fiddling around. try to lift the lever.
it would help if the jack is facing downward so gravity will be your friend.

oh man i tried. nothing happened.


but i saw that this monojacks head has a hole, so i put some kind of freakin super glue on toothpick and put it inside, now im leavin mpc for half hour, maybe more and then ill try to pull out this shiiiit

and what happens if the super glue dries to the jack itself?!?!

definitely keep us updated on this one.

here's another idea....

turn the mpc back-side-down....again, let's be friends with gravity, and take a regular 1/4" jack...insert it halfway so that it lifts the metal contact. now shake it a bit. that might loosen the stuck piece.

you might just have to replace the entire jack. shouldn't be too hard, desoldering is the hardest part.

ahh man, that's terrible to have to do that haha...

if that doesn't work, try using a screw.. maybe if you have one with wide enough threads it can get stuck in the jack's head...

if that doesn't work, maybe use a drinking straw.. try and get it around the jack head.. maybe then drop some glue on the inside?

ill let you all know if it worked out.

theres no way that glue will do something inside, i have everything under control. if that idea wont work out, all will be like before and i will still have problem.

now i have another idea, maybe ill try put in there really thight drill, use electric driller, make little hole, put screw and take out.

i would desolder the entire jack before i did that.
