Getting Poor Sound out of 2500 - what's going on?

something musical, le rat. i don't have any test tone vinyl.
however, i could download some .wav of test tones to use in a similar test.

I can't see the sonic differences being anything other than negligible to be honest, but it will be interesting to hear what's what...

Talking about "sonic differences being anything other than negligible", it reminds me the "Sound test: s1100 vs 2500 vs 2000xl vs 1000 vs s6000" topic in the mpc comparison forum. SPDIF was not involved but A/D D/A conversion between different machines and there was nothing to worry about.
