To be honest I don't see that many used 5000's on the market over here despite all the bad reviews and the Just Blaze rant beatdown.

Maybe Numark didn't sell many units in the first place since the recession coincided with the product launch too.

So how much are used 5's going for stateside?

@konc3pt

Which MPC do you think is worth a straight trade for a 5000?

I just saw an MPC5000 in the SOS reader ads for £550 fully expanded apparently, whatever that means.

Akai MPC 5000 Fantastic Sampler and drum machine sequencer and HD recorder. Fully expanded! Mint condition. Home studio use only. Mint condition. Samples and kits and synths pre installed on built in hard drive. Pro gear.
£550. Phone 07595 xxxxxx or Email (Manchester) 02/09/11

There is also an MPC60II on the same page for £565, I stand by what I said earlier about a trade.

Akai/Linn mpc 60 MKII Excellent condition. New backlight installed and glows beautifully. All pads excellent. Some wording slightly faded. This model is a 110v version. Stepdown PSU included to work with UK power. No sonic buzz. Tight sequencing. Legendary Roger Linn reliability. Call Andy 01912xxxxx.
£565ono. Email (Newcastle upon Tyne, Tyne and Wear) 22/08/11

Someone blasting the 5000 and there he is dickriding; konc3pt! What a troll. Doesn't even own a 5000.

And to the OP; if you did tech support why in hell did you buy it then? You must be an idiot with too much money...

Someone please quote this as konc3pt blocked me. I want him to know. For real.

lets get this straight...i'm not blasting the MPC 5000, it has many features to offer that i would probably like.....but the only problem was i couldn't make it to those features because of the noticeable flaws in this current OS 2.0 that i just could't get passed...what's the use of getting a mpc if it wont treat midi correctly and sequence right...DUHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!....it is a sequencer u know....and it does have 4 midi outs u know....and i have midi gear and this issue was rather major....so it may be great for all that other stuff but for what it was suppose to have in it working correctly as a no brainer, it didn't....Period....Point....Blank...

:D You all have a nice day
