Seriously though I should really check Ableton. Been looking to change programs because i'm beginning to feel uninspired by Cubase

i think nuendo and cubase should have been together, and you should have added something like adobe premier.

I record in cubase, doesnt really get more simple than that whilst still offering all those extra tools and features.. got all i need quick and swiftly accessible at a click or two for processing or arrangement/editing.. Havent really heard of anything that is better suited for what i do and i dont feel any limitations when its combined with the mpc and the other hardware.. Nothing to complain about, no excuses, no reason for upgrade hunting.. just my own limitations to deal with - perfect situation!

I'm with you mate.
I see features on other DAWs that I wish Cubase had... then realise it already has them! I was considering switching to Logic when I got a Mac, but thankfully I resisted the temptation.
I've got projects dating back to the early 2000s that load up perfectly in Cubase 6.

ABLETON IS THE SHIT!!
Downloaded recently and had a go and much prefer it to Cubase. Ableton has a much cleaner look and inspires me more.

^ nym made a good thread or two about reaper... the price is amazing for what you get... in fact it seems like it stands right up there with daws like cubase and pro tools etc.

I use my mpc in colab with logic 9 and its absolutley brilliant. the routing options are really supreme. Ableton is a great program for producing in its own way, but as a full production studio, Logic is the way to go bro.

ableton live is just awesome
i've never been fully sold on any DAW until i got this one. if most or all of your production is sample based you should definitely be using it or at least give it a shot
probably the only thing i dislike is not being able to separate stereo to mono without some kind of workaround.
