My friend Steve bought it and he loves it. Very easy to build and for the price, you can't beat it. The Monotron and this MIDI kit round out to about $100 altogether. To have an analog synth controlled by MIDI for $100 is unheard of!
I'll post back when I got it and done modding it :)

ive modded mine with gate, pitch and cv.. 8)

Nice! I wanted to do that originally and use it with my x0xb0x. But having the pitch play an octave higher wasn't something I wanted to deal with, though I'm sure someone may have figured out how to fix that.
Are you using the mod that phono aka 2Cv designed? He posts here on these forums. I'm sure you've talked to him. He did a nice job with that mod.

I really want to turn my Monotron into a Monotron++. The MIDI-IF KIT takes it one step closer, as it's part of the whole design. Eventually, I may be able to do all that. But for now, the kit plus a mod to bypass the headphone amp to eliminate the noise floor is definitely a good start for me.

BTW, you can still add the MIDI-IF KIT to the Monotron and use a small 10 pin connector mounted in the back of the unit for when you just want to use it as stock. Also, when doing this mod, it bypasses the ribbon cable. But a small modification will allow you to use it again as stock.
