A fantom my mac and A Mpc 2000xl.

what's up folks. Recently I traded in my tritonle and mpc 1000 and picked up the fantom x6 which is a tight workstation. But i found myself longing for an mpc because the drum pads on the fantom are like a Fine female with wooden Nip's they just don't feel right. Anyway, I'm going to buy me another mpc next month and I was going to pick up the mpc1000 again but i'm kind of leaning towards the 2000xl. I just wanted to know how we'll doe's it fit into computer based production. cause on the 1000 You have the usb thing going on which is tight and I've got my folks telling me the 2000xl is going the way of the dodo compared to the 1000 which is going to be next thing because of the usb and everything else. So I just want to know how you guys fit the 2000xl into your production.

For me, im use to it...USB to me aint nothing...It would be a plus etc but what u dont have u cant miss. Maybe if I had it to begin with (your case) I'd miss it.

With the use of Zips....CF Readers, its becoming easier tho

i really dont find it a problem on my 2kxl. i have the zip drive inside the mpc and i have a usb zip drive connected to my laptop so i can go back n forth. Its not really a big problem. like my man said if you never had it how can you miss it. so thats how i feel.

so young keys if i get a usb zip i can use it just like the 1000? and sense i'm getting a motu i would track the beat into my software the same right through the 8 outs. it seems like akai quit making the 2000xl because i can't find it on any online store.

i wouldnt buy a brand new mpc 2kxl from a store. a good use one would work better for me and yes to answer your question yea all you need a usb zip drive connectd to your computer to pass zip disk back n forth.

i also have a fantom-s61. it is a banging work station (esp its internal signal routing). but its sampler just doesnt have the same fine ass as my mpc
