Hell no thats a horrable price / check E-bay if you play your cards right you should be able to get one for just over 100 bucks. O to answer your other Q you can get a MoPhat moudle it just has the mophat ROM in it or a
proteus module with a proteus sound rom and mophat sound rom inside it.
Check e-bay :!:

Man I think you are lost , they are not just over 100 buck s !

Second , you can add a proteus rom to mo phatt but my question is will it have all the same sounds as the proteus if I add a proteus rom to a mo phatt ? You make it sound like the mo phatt doesn't have any expansion slots ?

cat's is raising prices on the mophatt, if you think it is a good price grab it, and if you add the rom it's the same sounds, i have that rom in my mophatt keyboard

if you look on ebay the mophatt is getting expensive, sometimes you can grab'em for less, but if you feel like you want the mophatt then grab it, it's all about how much you want it, you determine how much it's worth to you

but to answer your question yes if you get it and add the rom it's the same, but you better move fast if you want that rom, i got mine from emu for 59bux, cat's got them on ebay though

I have a Mo Phatt with a Vintage Keys rom in it and yes $250 is cool, I think dude thought you meant $250 for the rom. The proteus rom will give you the staple sounds out of the Proteus. Depending on the rom, I got the Composer rom which gives you all of the keys, strings, and other symphonic/orchestral sounds from the Proteus. You should be able to get roms for like $100 or less. The main advantage of having the Proteus is that it accomodates 4 roms whereas the MoPhatt only accomodates 2.

Good Luck,
D. James

So should I get a proteus and then add a mo phatt rom ? I want mainly hip hop drums and basses is mo phatt worth it ? And I need a lot of extra sounds as well . So proteus rom will not cover all of the sounds ?

My worry is adding a mo phatt rom to proteus won't give me a lot or as much mo phatt sound s as a mo phatt module ?

Thx

from what i understand the roms have the same samples as the modules, the modules come with a 32mb sound card, and the roms are 32mb, matter of fact bro, check this out, if you wanna know whats on the mophatt, i posted some samples from mine a while ago,i'm not finished yet, i plan on getting the whole soundset up or what is possible, but this is a lot to get you started, it's all the drums, percussion, keys, guitars, and scratches  here's the link

yo, it got some effects on it, and mad filters, some people say it's outta date but you can still find many cats who use it, i always hear sounds from it on the radio, i think, it will be new to you and you will use it how you want, i always like to get new sounds, it's all about how you use em

the mophatt keys was my first synth really, i had a yamaha qy-100 but it was little and didn't have keys, i like it though, but when i head the mophatt i was floored, i hadn't heard sounds like that in a machine before, i had a dr-5, then the yamaha, so i welcomed the mophatt with arms wide open, it has it's own personality, introduc yaself and get to know what he likes :P
