They are both great machines. The triton extreme sound wise is the regular triton with all of the add on boards installed plus a few other sounds.I asked a friend of mine that works at Sam Ash to call Roland and find out if they have plans to release a rack version of the extreme and the answer he got was no.The extreme sounds huge thanks impart to the valve technology they have incorporated into it.Alot of people forget that the Tritons have sampling capabilites that far exceeds what you could do with an MPC alone(with the exception of the 4000.)For less than $2000 you could have a 66key version of the extreme which is plenty and that coupled with an MPC for sequencing would be bad azz if you could master both of the machines. The Triton is a deep machine it has alot more functions than even people that have owned them for a while realize. If you get one be prepared to learn it inside and out.

Not even a month ago I gave up my Triton Classic (I had it since Jan 2001) and got me a Triton Extreme. The Extreme is much better. Why would you even have to ask since the Triton Classic came out almost 5 years ago (another one for the "WHY" thread).

Extreme is still a Triton right? It's just Extreme, which means what? It's got more of the same stuff plus more funtions.

It cost $1899 plus tax.
Get it.

You'll be mad at yourself later if you get a Classic.

Yeah, you can use the extra saved money to get a 256 or 512 compact flash card.

And since it's USB connectivity to your PC it's easy save and storage.

Go head and do the damm thang.. Good luck with that.
