If you got a sample (wheter you know it has been used/or you found out later) but you fliped in a dope way. Is is then okay to use it?

what up is this a nono of is it okay?

I think if you flip it dope, and make it hot it's okay!!

i say flip it. that Jaheim song with the sample from Alchemist's "Worst comes to Worst" beat is still tight.

flip it up any way you like! as long as its hot, who cares?

i think if you arent flipping it to the point of being something completely new and original, ie. if anyone could spot it out and know what it's from you aren't trying hard enough.

but that's just me and how i like to work. really though, the answer lies with you. make music with the goal of satisifying yourself and dont worry about what others think. if you like it, it's dope. if you have to clear the sample if you release the track and have to pay out some licensing fees in the process, well that gets back to my original statement.

yeah I have this track..with a sample that big pun also use (you aint a killer) I discovered it later.. but you can still hear it..but i chopped it up and flipt it and it got a whole different vibe now... I added dozens of other samples to it I am very pleased with it!!

and then I see the "major" producers do it (like Foo mention above) or Premo with Skillz (wich the samples are used like a dozend times!

then I think it's al good..if it makes you bounce it makes you bounce

Kaymir, what are you saying about Premo and Skills? That he used the sample a lot in that song or that other heads have sampled that same sound a lot? It is primarily a bassline from what I gather with a sweeping type sound in with it. Let me know, what other cats use that sample (if thats what you are saying) I want to hear how it's been re-cycled from producer to producer. I do not even know what the sample is or where it came from so anything helps. Thanks!
