I got a TR-808, but no manual.

I think me and Lampdog have a few pieces in common.

Cheers on the link DT.

I may sell my MPC, Evolver, and Circuit-Bent TR-626 for an 808.... or a 909. But the 808 is the OG and that drum machine takes make back FURTHER when it comes down to that sound pumpin' through the airwaves back in the '80s. 8)

Great Link bro.

I still got the paper copy manuals for my 808, 909 and a 303 (but i don't own a 303  ).
I bought them from Roland back in '92. I think i still got the receipt for them somewhere.

Glad the link came in handy Clint. I happened to find it on accident while reading about that dude's 707 problem. I bookmarked that. I've lost several good links like that in the past. So it's definitely a good idea to post them here.

You still got that 808 and 909 Juke?
Never sell them. I'm such a dumbass for selling my TR-606 and MC-202 4 years ago. But I needed the money. I should've sold my MPC instead since they're a dime a dozen... yeah i'm hating on myself every time i think about it.

Does it really cut it next to a Roland. I know it doesn't have the DRROOOOLLL factor but does it have the sounds?

I've been checking it out as much as I can on the web. It's not quite the original flavor. But it comes close. To most people, they wouldnt tell the difference (or they wouldnt at first). But to a x0x junky, we can spot an 808 while lying in a coma.

Yep. Still got both of them. I told my wife to bury them with me. I'm greedy like that.
I used to have a 707 but let "friend" borrow it and somehow it was the only thing that was stolen out of his house.

The threads over at Gearslutz seem to be the most extensive discussion of the acidlab Miami. Most users seemed pleased with it. Basically had the same view as distortedtekno. I was very close to ordering one, but Tempest has me in wait mode.

Yeah I'd rather have Tempest over Miami any day. It's not a substitute for an 808. But it's a whole different animal. 8)
