+1 on Renoise.
if you're after mouseless navigation, this is it,... you dont have to touch a mouse after launching the program if you know your commands.
the layout is just a lil bit odd to begin with for those not familiar with trackers but you get used to it real quick. you can do everything in renoise as its fx are not bad,.... but it really excels for composition.
shortly after getting my first mpc, the 1k, i came across renoise, and the 1k pretty much became an expensive midi controller
it sat there for ages till i got rid of it a few years ago.
i came back looking for a machine for live shows and the jjos advances since then are amazing, and ironically, the advances in the step grid edit pattern sequencer remind me alot of Renoise.
