Card reader problem

Ive had it for about 8 months and i got it from scsiforsamplers... I have it on the 3000LE.. It used to work fine but the problem im having now is when i try to load a prgm it starts to load then the screen goes blank and it just says "attention!" and "exit". Then when i try to load everything individually it'll load but when i hit the play button NOTHING happens when i hit a pad same thing... Its like it freezes but i can still scroll thru menus and all but it wont go into play mode or nothing.. My regular zip drive stills works fine tho so its no fuse or anything so... Anybody have any ideas?

Is your CF card possibly corrupted?

Is it possible to test the card reader with another machine?

Was everything working fine previously?

Well I also have a regular 3000 and it did something similar on that too.. Ive been using the same 2 cf cards so it may be the cards. I'll check on that when i get home later.

I was wondering if the size of the cf card has anything to do with it.. I think i have a 4GB card

the 3ks can only see 780mb, so even if you use a 4gb card, it's no different to a 1gb one. I did notice thst my drive was picky with cf cards though, I ended up using sandisk 2gb extremes in the end. I know JD changed the type of card reader he was using, and had to source the gear from elsewhere. it possibly seems they aren't as good as the old ones.... would this have any reason to do with why hes closing shop..... who knows? scsi gear is becoming a real **** to get hold of now. I can understand if he's having trouble sourcing parts. Have to remember that scsi is ancient in todays tech world, theres simply no market/support for it anymore.

I still keep on the hunt for some of the old classic drives, but they don't seem to be about anywhere. It would probably make you sick if you found out how many old readers were thrown in skips when offices had clear outs and refurbs etc. Finding one now is just complete luck. SCSI hasn't really been relevant for 10+ years, all since the birth of usb etc
