Hi...

Running JJ OS 2XL on a MPC 1000 and had a quick question.

I want to switch sequences but want the current sequence to play through before starting the next.

Currently when I switch to the next sequence it changes as soon as I switch with the data wheel.

There must be some sort of setting that I can't find.

Thanks for the help.

Have you ever tried the "Next Seq" button in between the "16 levels" & "track mute"
In the 2000xl when I have more then one sequence I usually press the "Next Seq" button and at the bottom their is a next seq bar where you select the sequence you want it to play after the first sequence is finished. I am pretty sure it works the same.
You might want to read the manual to find out a more accurate answer. I don't have a 1000 but I'm positive all MPC's work the same when it comes to basics.

Yeah...had to reset that. Thanks.

What if I'm switching to the 2nd sequence but only want one of the tracks from the 2nd sequence playing when it starts?

It looks as if JJ OS 3XL will address some of the things I'd like to have for live work.

In order to do that you have to mute the rest of the tracks.
The best way to control all these at once is the "track mute" button. Which has all the tracks highlighted. If you title you tracks its much easier to control them(ex. track 1: Kick, track 2: Snare, etc.) That way if you only want the snare to play, you can mute the kick and whenever you want in the same "Track Mute" screen you can enable the kick drum to play whenever you like. Hope that made sense.

Good luck

Oh yeah makes perfect sense...I use the track mute and solo feature all the time...

Problem is when I want to play a series of sequences back to back(when I do a live set) I'll move from sequence 1 to 2 (Ill even set the 2nd sequence to mute all but one track before the set). I get all the track playing at once on the new sequence. I want to slowly build up the new one...starting with a kick for instance

Thanks for the help...following instructions too!

is the status of the track mutes saved with the sequence? or if you 'save everything'. That way you could setup each sequence with mutes ready to go. I should know this I know....just can't remember.

Yup! When you save the sequence, with lets say all the tracks muted except for the kick drum. That is exactly how its going to appear when you load it up again.
